The Emergency Food Assistance program is a core program. It provides nutritious food stocks for disadvantaged community members and their families. This assistance comes in the form of food packages, fresh fruits,vegetables, snacks, and pre-prepared meals that can be eaten as you walk. To become a part of this program, the client must demonstrate need and that alone. He does not have to be unemployed or on any type of public assistance. We are aware that survival from pay check to pay check is a very difficult, if not impossible, task for many working families. This is particularly true when children are involved. These individuals constitute those members of the working poor, who are unable to make due without some type of assistance. Like the unemployed, Public Assistance clients, etc. they require a helping hand.
