Help us End Hunger Today The Face of Hunger ! You Can help!
Senior Citizen Outreach

The Senior Citizen Outreach Pantry Program or SCOPP was specifically designed to provide homebound senior citizens with nutritious food packages on a weekly basis, delivered directly to their doors. Many of the members of our senior citizen population are unable to visit a food pantry for emergency food assistance in time of need. They often suffer from severe arthritis, heart disease, etc. which robs them of the ability to get around. These are the seniors we hear of eating dog food and other such food stocks to survive. They are those we find suffering from malnutrition and other illnesses related to the plight of hunger.

The SCOPP program was designed to address this problem by providing homebound senior citizens with nutritious packages of food containing such items as: canned and fresh vegetables, meats, fish, chicken, etc. on a weekly basis. It was also envisioned as a means of providing needed social and referral services, as well. The method is simple, after delivering their weekly food package, our delivery person inquires as to his clients social needs and have needed referrals done, when warranted.
